Voting is one of the strongest ways you can participate in Australia's democratic process and I believe voting is very important for all eligible Australians as it contributes to the health of our democracy and our way of life.

Successive Australian Governments and Parliaments have shared this view and have maintained compulsory voting in Australia. So under Australian law it is compulsory to vote in Federal and State Elections if you are an Australian Citizen and on the Electoral Roll (with some exceptions).

The Australian Electoral Commission does a great job in making it easy for people to register their vote.
